This past summer, the Fairfield Community Services Foundation launched a new swim lesson scholarship offered at the City of Fairfield’s Aquatics Complex at Allan Witt Park.  “Club SWIMTASTIC” provides subsidized swim lessons and Rec Swim opportunities to underprivileged youth, between the ages of 6 months and 17 years of age, living in Fairfield and Travis AFB.  This program is provides an opportunity for youth to gain essential water safety skills to prevent drowning, which is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death among youth.  It also introduces youth to a recreation activity that promotes heart and lung health and helps prevent childhood obesity.
